We have written the Manifesto. Now we need to make it real. What do principles like “No Spitting” mean for real? What does Beware of the Leopard mean when you make that an underling principle of a Constitution? Which problems CAN we solve with potatoes?
This document describes how we will spend the next twelve months creating the Constitution and legal company structure for the world's first global mutually-owned digital platform based on the legendary Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the site that Douglas Adams himself founded, h2g2.com.
The new platform, Hitchhikersguide.earth, will give members the power and agency to create and share value in ways they determine as they build an ‘economy of guidance’ based on exploring Life, the Universe and Everything.
Not Panicking Ltd the current owners of all the rights relating to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and “real world guidance” will transfer its rights into this new structure, establishing member-owned governance for the next 42 years (at least!). Any returns for the Rights Holders (Robbie Stamp and Brian Larholm) will be based on the principle of capping those returns and the creation of a Foundation (or two!), under a plan code named “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Not Getting Obscenely Rich.”
